According to creator Eric Barone on a Stardew Valley Developer Blog post, the multiplayer update is getting closer to launch. Tom Coxon from Chucklefish Limited has been doing all the network coding to turn Stardew Valley into a multiplayer game. The new features are done and all the new text has been sent off to be translated into different languages. In the meantime, they are working on bug fixes. Once the team has received the translated text and tied it back into the game, they will begin the quality assurance phase. The QA phase will include a thorough testing of all the multiplayer and single-player gameplay. When this is finished, Eric says the update should be ready for public beta. As of right now, the release date they gave is spring. Hopefully, we will get an exact date down the road as well as some specifics to how the new multiplayer works.
